Mrs. Latanya’s Journey in Childcare

Mrs. Latanya began her childcare career in the U.S. Military, operating a successful in-home daycare that served many young children and their families. Her passion for early childhood education led her to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education, further strengthening her knowledge and skills.

After completing her studies, Mrs. Latanya opened her first daycare business, providing exceptional care for several years until her husband’s military service required their family to relocate. During this time, she continued her career as an Assistant Director at a Military Child Development Center, where she served for over four years.

With extensive experience across all ages and developmental stages, Mrs. Latanya brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her work. She has a special passion for supporting children with autism and learning differences, helping them find their path to success and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Philosophy
Our philosophy centers on the belief that children learn best through play, guided by caring adults who understand their individual needs and developmental stages. We foster curiosity, confidence, and kindness, helping each child build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. As partners with families, we value open communication and collaboration. At Latanya Little Hands, we guide little hands with big hearts—creating a space where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated.
Vision Statement
At Latanya Little Hands Academy, our vision is to create a warm and caring environment where young children are lovingly “bundled up” with the support, guidance, and encouragement they need to grow into confident, compassionate, and capable individuals. We envision a community where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn through meaningful play and nurturing relationships. By planting seeds of kindness, creativity, and resilience early on, we aim to help shape tomorrow’s leaders—one little heart at a time.
Mission Statement
Our mission at Latanya Little Hands Academy is to provide high-quality, play-based early childhood education that nurtures the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. As a veteran-owned and woman-owned academy, we are dedicated to serving our community with integrity, excellence, and love. We partner with families to create a supportive and inclusive space where children feel secure in care and encouraged to explore, discover, and thrive every day.
